Memorial Day.

Thankyou to all of our veterans out there who've served, are serving, or who've made the ultimate sacrifice.

Being "married to the military" opens your eyes to what is going on in the world in a whole different light.

Today I am thankful that my husband is stationed at a non deployable duty station. Why? My husband is the kind of man to volunteer for a deployment without even thinking about it. That's just who he is.

I am thankful for my papa, who served in the Navy during Vietnam. He witnessed too many tragedies, lost far too many buddies, and still suffers from PTSD from it all.

I'm also thankful to live in this wonderful country.

Land of the free BECAUSE of the brave.

Hope you all had a great weekend and reflected on how great this country is because of the men and women who selflessly serve.

Here are some photos of my handsome man in uniform :)

Mom life.

4:57 am

Hi there. I've been up since around 8 am yesterday.

Am I tired? I have no idea.

I've been awake doing all of the things that "magically" get done around here... By "magically" I mean the chores that nobody realizes have been taken care of. Y'know, the ones you never hear a Thankyou for..

Today marks one week out from the day I move away from DC. I'm getting pretty nervous and sad to be leaving my husband for so long. I'm trying to drown myself in everything else that still needs my attention so that I can enjoy the (stressful) remaining moments with him.

So, I stayed up and got everything ready for a garage sell, cleaned the stove pretty well, I wiped the blinds in the kitchen that still had some sort of sticky mess all over... Pretty sure it was someone's jack and coke from our last game night.. Yuck.

Oh, but man!! 4 am baths are amaaaazing!!! No crying baby, no husband asking where he left his keys, or ID, or whatever he can't find that is probably right in front of his face... (Haha)  I finally got to shave my legs!! And I'm not talking about the half leg shave, missing spots kind!! I'm talking a REAL shave that is silky smooth!! I feel like a new woman!

Obviously I've been needing some alone time.

If you somehow read this entire thing, go give your mom a hug and offer some sort of help. She probably needs it and is tired of asking.

Real blogging will happen soon. Promise.

I've got a cross country drive coming in a week!
